EV charging for Thailand’s national grid.
MEA EV is the customer-facing app for Thailand’s state electricity authority. We led the frontend on the mobile apps and the back-office that powers them — for the body running Thailand’s national EV rollout.
The Metropolitan Electricity Authority of Thailand was rolling out EV charging at national scale. They needed a customer mobile app that could find stations, book a charger, plan routes, and pay through the MEA Wallet — plus a back-office for operations to manage the network.
Bytemotion led the frontend on both. iOS and Android for customers, and a web back-office for ops. We worked with MEA’s in-house teams on auth, payments, and charger telemetry — they owned the backend; we owned the user-facing layer.
State-enterprise work has a particular shape: long procurement cycles, high reliability bar, careful change management. We learned to ship in lock-step with their internal teams, write clear handoffs, and build with the long-tail in mind — because once a state app is live, it’s live for the long haul.
